A bit about me

I’m Mads—a visual storyteller based in Kansas City, but raised far from the noise, in a small Midwest town where open skies stretch for miles.

I was adopted at birth through an open adoption, and that thread of duality—of belonging to many spaces at once—has shaped how I see the world. I’ve always felt the heaviness of stories that go untold.

It's finally my time to tell my story.

I’m drawn to spaces, people, brands, and locations that hold a story, a direction in purpose, capturing quiet moments, overlooked textures, and the emotional weight of place of being.

My approach to art and visual storytelling is rooted in emotional and connection through your senses. It’s not just about what you see, but through all of your sensories creating a psychological connection.

This isn’t just visual direction—it’s intentional.

Through connection and perspective, my works invite you to pause, reflect, and see the familiar in a new way.

Most importantly, if my work shifts someone’s perspective, even for a moment, then I’ve done what I came to do.

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
